2005 Legislative Session Report #2
Week 2 of the legislative session was eventful because the
Georgia Public Defender Standards Council made its FY05 budget
presentation to the House Appropriations Public Safety Subcommittee
on Wednesday, January 26 th , and because HB 170 (Criminal
Justice Act of 2005) and HB 172 ( Crime Victims Restitution
Act of 2005) were introduced. Both HB 170 and HB 172 are backed
by the Governor. HB 170 and HB 172 have been assigned to a
special subcommittee of the House Judiciary Non-Civil Committee.
