Statement
of Beliefs:
- All
children are entitled to legal representation that is individualized,
developmentally appropriate, and free of racial, ethnic,
gender, social and economic bias

Representation of children is a unique area of law requiring
specialized knowledge, training and skills

Juvenile defenders should have the resources and training
to adequately protect children’s rights

The juvenile justice system will be improved through greater
defender and community involvement
