The Northeastern Judicial Circuit Public Defender Office held its Open House at its Hall County office on December 8, 2005. Despite inclement weather, turnout from the community was good.
The Hall County Commission has provided custom-built office space, conveniently located in a free-standing building across the street from the Courthouse, with all new furnishings and equipment as well as a full library. The office provides a productive work environment for the enthusiastic staff of ten lawyers and twelve administrative and investigative assistants who cover both Hall and Dawson Counties.
In starting this new office, CPD Brad Morris has hired many new attorneys. They are being trained by senior attorneys, who come with an average of twenty years of trial experience each. Mr. Morris' goals in training the new attorneys include requiring a broad understanding of the law and court procedure complemented by an appreciation of the importance of knowledge of the community through civic involvement and community service.
