Longtime Advocate for Justice Emmet J Bondurant Steps Down as Council Chairman

Wilson Dubose presents statue to retiring Chairman Emmet Bondurant (right) on behalf of the Council and Staff

Emmet J Bondurant, who has led the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council as its Chairman since its inception, officially passed that torch at the recent March 9 council meeting. Wilson Dubose will take his place as Chairman. Stephen Tillman will replace Mr. Dubose as Vice-Chair. Mr. Bondurant will remain on the Council as a regular member. In gratitude for his service, the Council and staff presented Mr. Bondurant with a Hans Frobel Statue of Justice inscribed “In Honor of Emmet J. Bondurant: A true constitutional warrior for the cause of Justice and Equality for more than 40 years.”
